Free pics for your Website can come from a variety of sources and can be installed with a variety of approaches.
The following post examines at least three sources of free photos on the World Wide Web and easy ways to use them on your site
Flickr photos free from Creative Commons
One of the easiest solutions when searching for free photos to use on your Web design project is arguably also one of the Web's largest photo sharing sites: Flickr
If you already have a Flickr account, simply scroll to the bottom of the site's front page and select "The Commons" or "Creative Commons" and you'll be accessing a huge library of public domain work and images available for the price of simple attribution.
Two simple methods exsist for using these photos:
- Post the desired photo to a blog using the simple "Blog This" tool above each image. Then cut and paste the HTML code to the portion in your Website's code where it is expexcted
- Use the "Share This" tool aside of each image to extract the HTML and place it into your Website's code at the appropriate place
Wikimedia offers image resource
Another great source of free online photos is Wikimedia Commons, repository for not only Wikimedia's formidable archive of free and public domain photos but also music, sound and video collections.
To use this incredible online resource, simply enter search terms for the image you need under the Wikimedia Commons logo, click on the photo thumbnail, then find the "Full resolution" link beneath the photo and download a copy for use.
